General

Q:  What area(s) do you cover, where are you located?

A:  Erin & Jake Photography is located in Los Angeles. We cover Los Angeles to San Diego, but we often travel out of state for work! No destination is too far.

Q:  When will my photos be ready?

A:  It is always our top priority to deliver our clients photos to them as quickly as possible. Fashion and Product photos vary on the size of the project, roughly 1-3 weeks. Weddings may take up to 8 weeks, while all other sessions may take up to 3-4 weeks. Two-week rushed turnaround is available for all wedding clients. Two-day turnaround is available for Fashion, Head shots, Family Portraits, Product Photography, Maternity & Newborn, Band Portraits & Live Music. Inquire for more details!

Q:  How many images will I receive?

A:  EDP and Erin & Jake do not hold back when delivering client photos! None of our packages have a photo limit and we like for our clients to have as many quality images from their sessions as possible! Weddings typically produce 500-700 images. All other sessions receive a contact sheet to view and select the photos they wish to have edited.

*Note: Although we will take a lot of photos, not all of them are keepers. We will not deliver every single image taken at the event, just the best shots. The determination of the images delivered is at our discretion (via our best judgement).

Q: Do you ask for a deposit? If so, How much is it? 

A:   For most projects, we ask our clients to provide a $50 non-refundable deposit. The deposit will be credited towards the total payment of the project. Wedding deposits are $250 and will also be credited towards the total payment of the wedding contract. Your deposit is a partial payment on the total project, and it guarantees your photo session with Erin & Jake on the date you booked!

Q:  We can't make it to our session, can we have our deposit back?

A:  Unfortunately, deposits are non-refundable. Sorry. While we were holding the specific date for you, it’s very likely that we’ve had to turn down other potential clients who were requesting our services on the date held for you. But there is good news! We will still honor your original deposit for your next session if you would like to reschedule.

Q:  Do you have a studio?

A:  Yes. We currently work out of our home office and studio. We welcome clients to meet with us at our studio space in Redondo Beach, California. For clients who live outside of the area, we can travel to you! We rent studio space in your area (if available - we have traveled to some pretty small towns for weddings!). We do have our studio equipment (lights, backdrops, etc) available for transportation. We also provide snacks and drinks!

Q:  What forms of payment do you accept?

 A:  We accept Cash, Check, Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.  

Q:  Can I make a payment on your website?

Q:  Do you offer fast turnaround?

Wedding - Engagements - Bridal - Boudoi

Q:  Is one of you the main shooter and the other the assistant?

A:  We get asked this a lot — a lot. When it comes to shooting weddings, our roles flip-flop back and forth throughout the day as needed. We find this makes us more fast-paced and efficient—allowing us to get better coverage. We’re a team and we always make sure we do whatever is necessary to get the best results. You’ll find us both holding reflectors, coordinating group shots, carrying heavy gear in our hands and shooting creatively in our own ways. We have two distinct perspectives when shooting; one from a male perspective, another from a female perspective; two different angels, two unique visions that come together to create a beautiful representation of your wedding in stunning images and creative detail. So, who is the main photographer? Well.. the truth is.. we both are.

Q:  Do you travel? Do you accept destination Weddings and Engagement sessions?

A:  Yes! Jake and I both love traveling! There’s no need to hassle with flights, hotels or travel fees. Our destination wedding photography packages have the cost built into the price (the cost is dependent upon the destination area, covering airfare, hotel accommodations, and or ground transportation - if needed). We will take care of the booking and travel accommodations on our end, so you don’t have to!

Q:  What should we wear for our Engagement session?

A:  Figuring out what to wear for for your engagement session can be surprisingly stressful for most couples. There are a lot of things to consider when choosing your outfit. Weather and season, props, complementing each other with out matching, style, etc. At the end of the day, we recommend our clients choose something they are comfortable being active in. Q:  We only need one photographer, can we hire just one of you?

A:  No, we are sorry. We work together as a team. Always and forever, together (by passion for wedding photography and our very own wedding vows!) We do not charge you for a second shooter. Essentially, you are getting two photographer for the price of one!

Q:  How long have you been shooting?

A:  We started shooting weddings together in 2009. We are going on 7+ years photographing weddings together as a team. We’ve been married for 3 years.

Q:  Do you really offer FREE consultations?

A:  All consultations are 100% free. There is nothing more important to us than meeting with our clients and potential clients face-to-face and making sure they have all of the information they need. It is also a great way to get to know each other and establish a good chemistry. Skype consultations are available for clients who are too far away to meet.

Q:  Do you have insurance?

A:  YES!

Q:  Will we be required to sign a contract?

A:  Yes. We ask all wedding and engagement clients sign a contract. It is designed to protect our clients and ourselves, and ensures we are on the same page with the details of the engagement/wedding. The contract will highlight rights to photos, specific services hired for the event, what services the client will receive and when they can expect to have their photos.

Q:  Do you offer Videography services?

A:  No.

A:  Absolutely. We recommend scheduling a free consultation so we can sit down and discuss details. This will allow us to give an accurate, cost-effective quote that is perfect for you and your wedding day. It is important that the coverage we choose fits the flow of your wedding day. Family

Q:  I have a big family, how many people are allowed at the shoot?

A:  The more the merrier! 

Q:  Can you help us come up with a good location for my family?

A:  Erin & Jake are always on the look out for quality locations for our shoots. We are more than happy to help you find the right location for your family photos. Contact Erin & Jake for a list of location ideas, we will get back to you within 24 hours. 

Q:  What should we wear to our family shoot?

Maternity & Newborn

Q:  When is the best time to take maternity photos? 

A:  You want your belly to be big and beautiful, but you don't want it to be so large that posing and holding different positions for any length of time becomes taxing. We suggest taking photos right around 30 weeks. That's when your belly gets really round, but it's not too heavy yet. Of course each pregnancy and pregnant belly is different so use your own stamina as a guide. You want to be as comfortable as possible for a wonderful, relaxing photo session. 

Q: When is the best time to take newborn photos? 

A:  Babies younger than two weeks typically, we schedule all newborn sessions between five and ten days after birth. Although we will schedule newborn sessions at any age, we strongly encourage scheduling your session when your baby is at least under two weeks of age. This when they are most agreeable for a photoshoot. 

Q:  What happens if my baby is fussy during their newborn session? 

A:  Please don't worry! If your baby is fussy or needs a break, We do not charge extra time for our newborn sessions. We will enjoy a beautiful, peaceful day together to document the perfect portrait of your little bundle of joy! To best avoid a fussy baby, we recommend scheduling your session right after your baby's longest, most refreshing nap. 

Q:  How long will my session last? 

A:  Sessions range from 1 to 3 hours depending on what package you choose. You can find Erin & Jake maternity and newborn package and pricing information here

Q:  Do we go to you or do you come to us? 

A:  For Newborn photos, you can come to our studio or we can come to your home. Either location, Erin & Jake will come prepared with a few backdrop and prop options. However, we ask parents to bring items from your babies life to use as the best props. Toys, blankets, costumes, clothes, accessories, etc.

HeadshotS, LifeStyle & Comp CardS

Q:  What should I expect from my session? 

A:  Headshot sessions start in our studio, with natural light. We have a few different backdrops: color(s), cohesively, and white to give variety to character and in your proofs!. Following the studio portion of the shoot, we head outdoors to a location of your choosing, for a lifestyle and character lifestyle photo session. 

Q:  What should I wear for my head shots? 

A:  There are a lot of important tips to consider when choosing the right outfit(s) for your headshot session. A few key tips: A simple black shirt/blouse/dress is often a good option, solid colors are great, and avoid busy patterns and large lines or stripes. Q:  When will I get my proofs and when will my photos be delivered? 

A:  Proofs will be delivered within 24 hours of your headshot session. You will then choose the photos you would like to be lightly retouched. Depending on what package and add-ons you decided on, your completed images will be delivered 72 hours.

Band Portraits & Live Music

Q:  What area(s) do you cover? 

A:  Erin & Jake covers all of Southern California. For studio band portraits, our personal studio is in Los Angeles. 

Q:  Are you still offered as two shooter coverage for live music venues? 

A:  Yes.  You will receive the best of both Erin and Jake's images. 

Q:  We want quality shots of us playing live, what venue(s) should we hire you for? 

A:  Quality shots = Quality lighting We highly recommend stage lighting for quality live music photography. 

Fashion

Q:  Will you speak with my agent, if needed? 

A:  We are more than happy to speak with your agent to get the best photos for your needs and our concept.

Q:  When will I receive my photos? 

A:  You will receive proofs within 48 hours of your fashion photoshoot. You will then be able to choose your favorites to be professionally retouched. The number of photos delivered is based off the package or add-on features you choose. 

Q:  What defines a look? 

A:  A look can be defined as a wardrobe, makeup, or concept change.

Q:  Who retouches the photos?

A:  Depending on the job, both Erin and Jake are professional retouchers. 

Q:  Can I bring a friend/parent/escort with me to the shoot? 

A:  Absolutely. Only good vibes on set and at shoots! I want everyone as comfortable as possible in hopes of providing a safe place to openly create some great art. If having someone there helps you, and know how to conduct themselves appropriately, they are more than welcome at at our shoots. Erin is the photographer,  Jake would be my assistant for your shoot.  

ProductS

Q:  Do we come to you or do you come to us? 

A:  Whichever way is best and easiest for you. If your products are fragile, hard to relocate, or a high volume of products, we recommend having us come to you. All equipment is mobile, and will be brought with us. 

Q:  How do you price your product photography services? 

A:  Erin & Jake has a two - tier pricing system: Price per image and Price per product. Contact Erin & Jake for more details.

Q:  Do you offer retouching services too? 

A:  Yes! Contact Erin & Jake for more details.

Q:  Do you offer fast turnaround?

Printing - Albums - Photo Rights

Q:  Where can I order prints and a wedding album?

A:  Prints are available via our online viewing and ordering site through Pixieset: client.erinjakephotography.com - Prints and enlargements are available in various sizes from 4x6" to 20x30". Canvas prints are also available (with or without frames)! Sizes range from 12x16" to 20x30".
For photo albums, the options are endless between styles, details, number of photos, materials used (e.g. leather bound vs. hardcover). We would like to setup a free consultation with you to discuss your ideas! Contact Erin & Jake for more album information and to set up your free consultation.

Q:  Who picks the images for our albums?

A:  We do. A rough draft of your photo album is designed. Then we will schedule a consultation to present the rough draft, discuss photo/page replacements and additions, client ideas and album book wishes. A final draft is presented followed by finishing touches and PRINTING! We welcome your input when deciding which photos to use, but we ask our clients to provide input early in the process so we can properly design the book. The final design will change depending on which images are selected. Our goal is to tell the story of your wedding in photos. We would like to choose the best photos to tell that story.

Q:  Can I add more pages or images to my album?

A:  Each additional page can be added for additional cost and includes the design time/revisions.

Q:  Do we get copy rights or a print release with our images?

A:  You have the right to reprint images whenever you want. However you may not sell your images for profit or publish your images without the written consent of Erin Delsigne Photography or Erin & Jake Photography. Rights to do so are at additional fee; contact for more details.

Q:  What printers do you use for your prints, enlargements, and canvas prints?

A:  Through client.erinjakephotography.com, our printing service uses Epson 7880 and 7890 printers with 8 - color Epson UltraChrome K3TM inks. Your perfectly captured memories printed in stunning detail and vivid color.
