A Wes Anderson Wonderland:

Brigid & Gus' Humboldt Wedding at the Lost Whale Inn

Trinidad California, Humboldt County

Nestled along the rugged coastline of Humboldt County, California, amidst towering redwoods and crashing waves, the Lost Whale Inn set the stage for a whimsical and unforgettable wedding celebration. Brigid and Gus, two kindred spirits who met while working out at the gym on rowing ergs, exchanged vows in a ceremony that was as unique and charming as their love story.

From the moment guests arrived at the Lost Whale Inn, they were transported into a Wes Anderson-inspired wonderland. The venue, with its quaint charm and vintage allure, perfectly complemented the couple's eclectic style and love for the iconic filmmaker's aesthetic and their love for their home, Humboldt County.

A Personal Touch: Rowing Ergs, Legos and Wes Anderson Décor

One of the most delightful aspects of Brigid and Gus' Humboldt wedding was the incorporation of rowing ergs into their special day. As a nod to how they first met, the couple brought ergs to the venue, adding a personal and playful touch to the wedding decor. These ergs not only served as unique photo props but also became a focal point of the reception, where guests gathered around to capture memories and share laughs.

In true Wes Anderson fashion, every detail of the Humboldt wedding was carefully curated to reflect the couple's love for his whimsical style. From a cinematic match between pastel color palettes, jewel tones, retro patterns to quirky props and vintage accents, the entire event exuded the quirky charm and visual delight reminiscent of Wes Anderson's films. The couple also incorporated their love for Legos in a way we didn't even know possible! Brigid had Lego flowers mixed with fresh, Humboldt local flowers. Guests could build Lego's at the guest book signing table. Of course, we used them to photograph their rings and connect their love for Legos, hobbies and personality.

The Ceremony: Love Amongst the Redwoods

Against the backdrop of towering redwoods and the soothing sounds of the nearby ocean, Brigid and Gus exchanged heartfelt vows in a ceremony filled with love, laughter. Brigid and Gus stood under a beautiful wooden arch decorated with stunning fresh flowers, local to Humboldt.

As the sun began to set behind the fog, the fog rolled in over the enchanted forest, Brigid and Gus sealed their union with a kiss, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

The Reception: A Wes Anderson Affair

Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the Lost Whale Inn's charming reception hall. Vintage furniture, whimsical centerpieces, and quirky details adorned the desert table, transporting guests into a world of cinematic nostalgia.

Family and friends danced for hours, sharing drinks and laughs, hugs and stories. Strawberry shortcake were served to the guests; while the kids were lucky enough to score some good ole fashion worms in dirt.
